Family:

I was born and raised in Hudson, IL. I was not raised fully Catholic but my dad was Catholic. When I married my husband Gabe in Decemeber of 2012, he was raised Catholic and made the decision I would join the church. It only took me 8 years to make that decision and last year I went through RCIA and joined the Catholic Church. Our children Declan and Lillian both attend Corpus Christi Catholic school. Declan has been at the school since he was in Kindergarten, now second grade and Lillian started last year in 3’s preschool and will continue on.

Career and Volunteer Affiliations:

I graduated from Illinois State University in 2009 with a Bachelor's Degree in Science in Nursing. I worked 4 years at BroMenn hospital in the Intensive Care Unit prior to finishing my advanced practice degree.I completed my Master in Science of Nursing from Olivet Nazarene College in 2013 and have been practicing as a Nurse Practitioner for the last 9 years. I currently work with Long Term Care Facilities as the provider for those patients residing in there and have been for the last 3 years. I have also worked 2 years of Prompt Care in Bloomington,IL and then worked 3.5 years as Bone Health and Pain Management APN at Millenium Pain Center. Additionally, I am adjunct faculty for Mennonite College of Nursing at ISU and work in their simulation lab with their undergraduate nursing students.

Reasons for serving on the FIRE Foundation Board:

As a healthcare professional, school volunteer and parent I think it is crucial to be part of a solution for children with special needs when it comes to their education and socialization. I want to be part of a dedicated team to help make a positive change in our community and school for those that need it. Every child should be able to be part of faith based learning and get their needs met.
