Betsy Wright was born in Elmhurst, IL. She attended Illinois State University for her undergraduate degree in Early Childhood Education with a minor in SPED and reading. She graduated from Walden University with her Masters Degree in Education with an emphasis in reading and literacy. She spent 10 years teaching in the public school where she taught at-risk PreK in a blended classroom setting. This is her first year at Holy Cross as a kindergarten teacher/ SPED coordinator, her daughter also attends Holy Cross.

Reasons for serving on the FIRE Foundation Board:

Being the SPED coordinator in a private school is very different from the public schools, she wants to learn from fellow Catholic educators to best serve the children in her school. Betsy believes in the importance of serving those children with Special Education Services while receiving a Catholic Education.
