Kim Landry is the Senior Director of Field Training for Jimmy John’s and Baskin-Robbins, part of the Inspire Brands family. With a background in education and extensive experience in training and development, Kim is hoping to bring a unique blend of instructional expertise and corporate leadership to the FIRE Foundation board.
A graduate of the University of Missouri-Columbia, Kim earned a Bachelor of Science in Education and began her career as a teacher in the Kansas City area. She later completed a Master of Arts in Communication with a focus on Organizational Training & Development, transitioning into the food service industry where she has led training initiatives that support a wide range of learners and learning styles.
Kim and her husband, Greg, met while working at Jimmy John’s in Champaign and were married in 2007, the same year Kim joined the Catholic Church. They are proud parents to their daughter Rubye, a 2023 graduate of St. Matthew Catholic School. Greg has also served the local Catholic education community as a teacher’s aide at St. Matthew and currently teaches at Jefferson Middle School.
A longtime parishioner of St. Matthew Catholic Church, Kim is passionate about inclusion in Catholic education. She believes that students with disabilities deserve the same opportunities to learn, grow, and experience the richness of a faith-based education. Kim is committed to helping close the opportunity gap and ensuring that both students and teachers have the resources they need to thrive in inclusive environments.
Reasons for serving on the FIRE Foundation Board:
It is Katie’s belief that all young learners should be accepted, accommodated, and fully welcomed, including those with special needs. Including students with disabilities involves allowing God to take the lead and staying focused on Jesus’ mission instead of fixating on states’ grade-level standards or expected standardized-test performance.
